Los Angeles Public Library presents a talk by LAGG's Master Gardener, Florence Nishida:

Native Plant Gardening and Chumash Lore

 

Learn how to make paper pots and plant California poppies with master gardener Florence Nishida. Participants will also learn Chumash mythology and traditional uses of California native plants.

Florence will also be bringing milkweed seeds from the LA Green Grounds teaching garden to be planted around the city to support Monarch butterflies. These butterflies are on the verge of extinction.

This program is open to kids, teens, and parents. All supplies will be provided and snacks will be served.
